Defense in Ted Stevens trial enters final phase

Lawyers for Alaska Senator Ted Stevens are entering the final phase of their case. They’re trying to shoot down the government’s claim that Stevens lied on his U.S. Senate forms about gifts worth more than $250,000, mostly from oilfield services company VECO. The jury could begin deliberating on Monday.
