Research Will Look at Paradox in Yup’ik Health

A scientist with the Center for Alaska Native Health Research at the University of Alaska Fairbanks has been awarded 2.8 million dollars from the National Institute of Health to study why Yupik Eskimo people struggle with high rates of obesity but have lower incidences of type 2 diabetes than others.
