Outreach Efforts Underway to Welcome Rural Alaskans to Anchorage

Rose Roehl,  a petite woman wearing bright blue earrings and a colorful smock, is getting ready to go meet one of her school “families”.  It’s the second week of school, and she’s looking ahead to a productive season. Many of the Yupik families she works with are new to Anchorage, as was Rose’s own family years ago, when they moved to the city from a lower Yukon village.
