Longtime Aniak fire chief Pete Brown, died of cancer on Tuesday. Brown was 64. His death came just three days after residents in the middle and upper Kuskokwim region held a Celebration in his honor at the Aniak high school. Brown is credited with saving countless lives, not only from medical emergencies, but also from suicide and depression.
