Donated Exam Beds Headed to Haiti

The Tanana Valley Clinic is donating exam beds to a new hospital in earthquake ravaged Haiti.  TVC is replacing the exam tables with updated models, and clinic spokeswoman Anna Atchison says staff wanted to find a place for the still viable equipment.

Atchison says Lynden Transport subsidiary Alaska West Express offered to ship the 17 exam beds to Anchorage based non-profit group Alaska Medical Missions, which is preparing a container of equipment and supplies for a new hospital going up near Port O Prince, Haiti.  Alaska Medical Missions Director Brandon Tatum says the shipment is the latest of several with donations from clinics and hospitals from all over Alaska and some western Lower-48 states that the organization has put together for Haiti.
