Steve Heimel, APRN – Anchorage

Young men involved in a number of violent incidents kept Anchorage police busy Saturday night and Sunday morning.  Outside a downtown bar a bystander was shot along with a young man involved in some sort of fight.  Mavaega Brandon Tautua, 21, has been charged with assault and weapons misconduct. The bystander, Shawna Calt, was shot in the shoulder, hospitalized, treated and released.  The other victim was Angel Martin-Laura, 19.  He was taken to the hospital by friends, also treated and released.

There was also an altercation involving gunfire and a vehicle crash in Mountain View, with those involved telling police an involved and complicated story.  And there was a brawl in Spenard, where six ended up being arrested in the parking lot of the Chilkoot Charlie’s nightclub.
