Prosecutors Agree to Reverse Corruption Charge

Federal prosecutors have agreed with a motion to reverse the corruption conviction of Jim Clark, who was Chief of Staff for former Governor Frank Murkowski, but only if he agrees to continue co-operating with them in exchange for his plea.  Clark’s lawyer filed the motion because a U.S. Supreme Court ruling has ruled against the interpretation of the  “honest services” law that was one of the main tools for corruption prosecutions.
