East Anchorage Pile-Up Leads to Arrest of DUI Offender

Steve Heimel, APRN – Anchorage

A pile-up collision in east Anchorage has led to the arrest of a man with a long list of drunk driving offenses.  State law requires that multiple DUI offenders serve 10 years in prison, but Donald Bendix, 46, of Anchorage had failed to show up for sentencing and there were warrants out for him.  Along with his many DUI’s, had also been caught driving without a license.  Bendix was chased down by witnesses to the pileup, which occurred on Oct. 23.
