Commission Proposing $50,000 Pay Raise for Governor

Associated Press

The  Alaska State Officers Compensation Commission is proposing a $50,000 pay increase for Governor Sean Parnell.   It had a hearing Tuesday that was attended by three people.   There will be another hearing before the Commission makes its final recommendation next month.

The preliminary recommendation would boost the governor’s salary from $125,000 to $175,000.

Commission chairman Rick Halford says $50,000 is the maximum the commission could recommend and it may ultimately propose a smaller number or nothing at all.
