Enforcement Teams Combine in Anti-Violent Crime Effort

Last week an interagency enforcement sweep in Anchorage and the Mat-Su Valley netted 45 criminals, plus guns, snow machines a pair of marijuana growing operations and a runaway.

Anchorage police describe the three day operation as the largest of its kind to take place in Alaska. Altogether “Operation Gangbusters” involved more than 100 sworn officers from 12 federal, state and local jurisdictions. According to Anchorage Police spokeswoman Anita Shell, a lot of advance work went into last week’s Wednesday through Friday arrests and seizures. KSKA’s Len Anderson has details.
