Associated Press

Tyler Huntington and Chris Olds crossed the finish line Saturday evening to repeat as Iron Dog champions for the second straight year. They passed the team of Palin and Eric Quam in the final 100 miles of the 2,000-mile race across Alaska that ends near Fairbanks.

The winning pair will split the first place, $50,000 purse.

The father and son team of Scott and Cory Davis took third place.

And the Governor’s Cup remains in Fairbanks.  Friday night the University of Alaska Fairbanks Nanooks hockey team defeated the University of  Alaska Anchorage 5-1, but the Seawolves came back Saturday to down their in-state rivals, 4-1.  That produced a shoot-out situation which Fairbanks won 2-0.
