One of those killed when a gunman in Germany opened fire on a busload of American soldiers Wednesday was an airman from Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson on his way to deployment in Afghanistan. Airman Nick Alden, 25, was with the 673rd Security Forces Squadron at Elmendorf-Richardson until late last year.
