Two Exciting New Shows On Religion, The Bible

April 7, 2011

Secrets of the Dead: Battle for the Bible is the gripping story of faith, flames and martyrdom that led to the Bible’s translation into English. Some of the most famous words ever written are found in the most widely read book in history: the Bible in English. This film travels back in time to one of the most turbulent periods in history – the Reformation – to tell the extraordinary story of a group of men who set out on what they believed to be a divinely inspired mission: to bring the Scriptures to people in their own language for the first time.

Nova: The bible’s Buries Secrets is a two-hour special that breaks new ground in investigating the origins of the ancient Israelites, the evolution of their belief in one God and the creation of the Bible. For the first time, more than a century of literary detective work and decades of archeological excavation in the Holy Land will challenge viewers with provocative new insights.   A story of science, history and faith, this program will leave a lasting impact on viewers and become the definitive documentary on the Bible for generations to come.
