Kids These Days! – Kids & Volunteering

Tuesday, April 12 at 2pm and 7pm

KIDS & VOLUNTEERING

In preparation for Kids Day at the Dena’ina Center (where you’ll find KTD! on April 16!) Debbie Bogart, the Executive DIrector of Anchorage’s Promise, Heather Jack, founder of The Volunteer Family and Future Philanthropists and Nyla Riley, a teen volunteer share with host Shana Sheehy why (and how!) kids can make a difference.

Did you know it’s National Volunteer Week? Check out our list of 6 Volunteering Websites to Inspire the Whole Family and don’t miss the FREE Kids Day this Saturday, April 16 at the Dena’ina Center from 10am to 4pm where you can sign up for community projects and also have lots of fun! Shana and Sarah will be at the Kids These Days! exhibit where you can play dress up and then take your picture in our photo booth!

Also on this hour: Teens talk about giving back; a New Stuyahok man inspires local youth; teaching service-learning in the classroom; and even the youngest kiddos can come up with an idea, raise money and put their plan into action. You’ll be inspired by Alaska’s youth!

After you hear the program please visit KidsTheseDays.org where the conversation continues 24/7! You can also search the archives, hear featured stories in excerpt, read our excellent original blogs, view photos and browse local family activities and fun lists.
