Father, Son Rescued on Mountain Near Sitka

A father and son stranded on Harbor Mountain near Sitka were rescued Friday evening through the combined efforts of a Sitka Mountain Rescue Team and a Coast Guard Air Station helicopter.

Scott Swyers and his father, John were stranded on the mountain with Scott suffering from hypertermia and leg problems.

The helicopter flew the pair to Sitka.

The weather during the rescue was 30 degrees with light winds.
