BOEMRE May Be Able to Monitor Offshore Rigs Electronically

Monday at the annual Offshore Technology Conference in Houston, BOEMRE head Michael Bromwich talked a little more about plans to beef up offshore enforcement.  Earlier he had said they wanted to have enforcement personnel aboard the rigs.  Now he says it might be possible for them to monitor the rigs electronically.

The governors of Alaska, Mississippi, Louisiana, Texas and Virginia announced Monday that they have formed a coalition of Outer Continental Shelf Governors to push for more offshore drilling.
