On today: Tuesday, May 10 at 2pm and 7pm
Youth services librarians, Jane Henriksen Baird and Susan Sommers, both from the Anchorage Public Library join host Shana Sheehy in the studio to talk about how to keep your families and kids of all ages reading all summer long. They fill us in on the Anchorage public library’s many summer programs, provide a sneak peek at the new Teen Underground launching in June. Plus, they extend the invitation to the summer’s biggest family literary event that you will not want to miss: The 11th Annual Reading Rendezvous on Saturday, May 14!
Also on this hour: Plus, can kids lose some reading ability over the summer? New research says yes – all the more reason to get to the library! And we ask adults to remember their favorite books when they were growing up in another installment of When I Was Young.
After you hear the program please visit KidsTheseDays.org where the conversation continues 24/7! You can also search the archives, hear featured stories in excerpt, read our excellent original blogs, view photos and browse local family activities and fun lists.
