Hometown Security: Climate Adaptation, Social Innovation and Local Solutions

Building parks and motivating residents  to take pride in their neighborhoods, Majora Carter founded Sustainable South Bronx in 2001 and went on to become one of the nation’s leaders in successful urban green-collar job training. She also serves on the boards of the U.S. Green Building Council,  The Wilderness Society and hosts a new series on public radio called, The Promised Land.

The MacArthur Genius Fellow gave the keynote address at the Classrooms for Climate conference hosted by The Chugach National Forest and UAA on May 4.
