Senate Ready to Approve One-Year Extension to Coastal Zone Management

The state Senate is ready to agree to a one-year extension of the state’s Coastal Zone Management system without changes.  Senate President Gary Stevens said a sufficient majority of the Senate has agreed to a special session restricted to that simple decision.  The House is polling on the issue now.  Up until a short time ago, the Senate was insisting on changing the CZM system to allow more local input.  They are now willing to let that wait until next year.
