KAKM, Channel 7 television is pleased to continue bringing quality programming to your home. In this month’s primetime lineup you will find new programming as well as some of your old favorites.

One Square Mile: During a cold February earlier this year, Carl Crum was in Texas, imagining
what life could be like in the northernmost town in America. Then he packed two bags full of camera equipment and flew from Austin, Texas to Barrow, Alaska to find out. Featuring 13 of its residents, the film is one episode of the One Square Mile project, a documentary series that explores society within the microcosm of a single mile. Collectively the square miles make up a patchwork of contemporary American culture.

One Square Mile: Barrow collects 13 short videos into one continuous episode. All episodes, including other One Square Mile cities, are available at

Consider the Conversation:

Motivated by their personal experiences with loss, Mike Bernhagen, hospice educator, and Terry Kaldhusdal, a fourth grade teacher and filmmaker, decided to join forces in early 2009 to begin a creative journey that has resulted in a film entitled Consider the Conversation.

This project sheds light on the 21st century American struggle with communication and preparation at the end-of-life. Throughout the film, there are intimate accounts of the emotional, spiritual, physical and social burdens associated with the historical shift that has occurred with dying.
