Strike Vote at Anchorage Water Utility

Anchorage utility workers have authorized a strike at the water and sewer utility, but there may not be a work stoppage.  An arbitrator has already ruled in favor of the union, but the Municipal Assembly refused to accept the contract terms.  Sullivan can send the issue to a judge, who will decide whether to okay the arbitrator’s ruling. Plumbers and Pipefitters Union Local 367 has about 120 members and 113 of them voted to authorize a strike.
