Two Boroughs Still Need Mayors and Barrow Rejects Liquore Store

In the North Slope Borough mayor contest.  Charlotte Brower  is leading but doesn’t have the necessary 40 percent of the vote to avoid a runoff. In that race she will face either Fenton Rexford or George Ahmaogak. It’s too close to call.

And the Kenai Peninsula Borough mayor race continues. None of the six candidates in the race reached the vote threshold of fifty percent, so that means a runoff election October 25th between the top two vote-getters, Mike Navarre and Fred Sturman.

And this result not available yesterday morning: voters in Barrow have rejected the proposed municipality run alcohol package store for the community.
