UAA Health Sciences Simulation Lab in Action

The UAA Health Sciences Building is all about new sophisticated simulation labs so that health professionals with varying expertise can practice together in simulation, rather than in the real ER or OR. Quality control studies in hospitals show that communication difficulties across areas of expertise has been a leading cause of mistakes. The simulation labs are an attempt to solve that issue.

Here a a video from UAA for the recent grand opening of the new Health Sciences Building, which demos a rescue using a simulation body. UAA has recently consolidated all its medical programs into the College of Health, the statewide health university.

The mission of UAA is to discover and disseminate knowledge through teaching, research, engagement, and creative expression.
