Distracted, Drunk Driving Lands Driver Two Year Sentence

Distracted as well as drunk driving is part of the reason for a two year sentence in Fairbanks. Last January Roger Dean Ostbloom, 40, had a head-on collision while texting. The other driver was seriously injured. Ostbloom pled out on charges of second degree assault, driving while texting, and driving under the influence. The judge said jail time is necessary to show societal disapproval.
