Early Monday morning a woman was found badly injured near a blood smeared vehicle stopped in the middle of a street in South Anchorage, and police are seeking a man in connection with the assault.

The victim is identified as Kristen Reid, 30. The person of interest is identified as Bukurim Miftari, 21.

Anchorage Police say he fled on foot near the Old Seward Highway when they contacted him late Monday. He is armed and considered dangerous.

According to an APD, “During the course of the investigation, detectives learned that Miftari and Reid had been in a domestic relationship that Reid was trying to end.”

Miftari has been charged with Attempted Murder 1, Assault 1, Kidnapping and Tampering with Physical Evidence, APD said.

Reid remains in critical condition.
