APD Searching For Missing Woman

Anchorage Police Department detectives spent the weekend searching for a missing woman from Fairbanks. Thirty-three year old Mary Anne Alexie arrived in Anchorage on Oct. 9 and was last heard from at about 3 a.m. on Oct. 10. Lt. Dave Parker with the police department said she told her friends that she was in the Spenard neighborhood, she was confused, and she didn’t know where to go. She never contacted Alaska Career College, where she planned to attend classes, and she has not contacted her family. Parker says that the department is urgently seeking any information about Alexie’s whereabouts because the longer she is gone, the more concerned they are about her safety. She is four feet, eleven inches tall and weighs 120 pounds with brown eyes and hair.

Another woman is missing in Sitka. Thirty-three year old Lael Grant was last seen on Oct. 14 at her family’s home. On Saturday the Sitka police found her empty car near the outdoor shooting range. Search and rescue are scouring the area with ground searchers and rescue dogs.
