Kokhanok Man Indicted on Charges of Sexual Abuse of a Minor

A Kokhanok man has been indicted on charges of sexually assaulting an underage male family member. Following his arrest Tuesday, Edwin Zackar is now in custody in Anchorage on $30,000 bail.

State troopers first investigated the assaults in 2011. They say Zackar abused the victim between 2007 and 2009. Last week, a grand jury in Anchorage indicted Zackar on one count of Sexual Abuse of a Minor in the Second Degree and two counts of Sexual Abuse of a Minor in the Third Degree.

The court issued a warrant, and Zackar was arrested Tuesday.
