Personalized medicine is an approach to disease prevention and treatment that takes into account differences in people’s genes, environments and lifestyles. This approach can also be adapted to psychiatry. His career in medicine began in 1984 at Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston, then on to a general psychiatric residency, continuing on to a child and adolescent psychiatric fellowship at University of Maryland Medical Systems in Baltimore.
