APD: Spenard shooting under investigation

Anchorage police are investigating a shooting near the intersection of Spenard Road and Minnesota Drive.

According to a press release, APD received a call just before 3:30 a.m. today [Friday], from citizens reporting that they heard shots fired in the area.

Shortly after that, police received another call, saying a man had been shot inside an apartment building.

Police and medics responded, and found a unidentified young adult male with multiple gunshot wounds.

APD says he was responsive, but would not provide details to officers about the incident.

He was taken to a local hospital for surgery, and is in critical condition.

No suspect is in custody at this time.

The investigation continues.
