Flood advisory in effect along portions of Chena River

A flood advisory is in effect for the Chena River at the Moose Creek Dam through Monday afternoon.

The National Weather Service says the river remains at bankfull and above flood stage in some locations.

Low lying boat launches and trailheads may still be underwater, including the Granite Tors Trailhead, Stiles Creek Shooting Range, and the Compeau Trailhead.

The Weather Service says water levels at the Steamboat Landing subdivision in North Pole are expected to remain at minor flood stage for the time being.

River water is expected to flood some yards in the subdivision, and groundwater will likely cause flooding in the basements of some residents.

The flood advisory remains in effect through 2:45 p.m. Monday.
