Search underway for missing Shageluk teen

A search continues for a man who went missing last week in the western interior village of Shageluk. An Alaska State Trooper dispatch says that there’s been no sign of 18-year-old Alfred Hamilton since September 7th, when friends he’d been drinking with reported leaving him asleep on a bench outside the village tribal hall, after he refused to go home.

Troopers say Bethel Search and Rescue has been coordinating an effort that’s included search dog teams as well as volunteers from neighboring Yukon River villages of Grayling and Holy Cross and aerial searches by Troopers.
