Photo Gallery: Three Little Bears

Three little black bear cubs are currently calling the Alaska Zoo home. The three siblings, one female and two males are approximately 6 months old and weigh about 15 pounds each. The cubs will eventually be heading to the Binder Park Zoo in Michigan.

The cubs were brought to the Zoo from the Joint Base Elmendorf Richardson (JBER) by Alaska Department of Fish & Game. Their mother was put down after she became conditioned to human food and broke into a camper repeatedly.

The cubs arrived at the Zoo last week and are being cared for at the Alaska Zoo infirmary. The three playful cubs are out and about in their yard each day.

The Alaska Zoo is open seven days a week from 9am to 9pm.
