Old ‘N Bold Pilots
“There are old pilots, there are bold pilots, but you’ll never find an old, bold pilot.” Not true in Alaska! In celebration of the centennial of flight in Alaska, Alaska Public Media and the Alaska Aviation Museum are bringing together “old school” bush pilots to tell their boldest stories to compete to be the Boldest Pilot in Alaska. Pilots include: Bill Brooks, Jorgy Jorgenson, Lavelle and Dick Betz, Orin Seybert, Orin Hudson, Stu Ramstad, Dick Reeve (son of Bob Reeve), John Spaulding and Chuck Lastufka.
- 6-9 p.m. Doors at 5:30 p.m.
- Alaska Aviation Museum
- BBQ dinner, cash bar for wine and beer and raffle drawings.
Tickets range in price $25 for members of Alaska Public Media and the Alaska Aviation Heritage Museum, $30 for the general public and $40 for VIP tickets, which include a private meet-and-greet cocktail hour in the retired Alaska Airlines 737 Jet on site. (Meet and Greet: 5 to 6 p.m.) $10 for kids 12 and under.
Proceeds from this event benefit both the Alaska Aviation Heritage Museum and Alaska Public Media.
