Bethel Alcohol Vote Tightening

In Bethel the City Clerk’s office is reporting an additional 49 absentee ballots yet to be counted. That moves the number of uncounted ballots from 110 up to 163 and increases the chance that the outcome of Proposition One could change. Proposition One asked if the City of Bethel should revoke local option and allow alcohol to be unrestricted. Proposition One is currently passing with 53 percent of the vote. To change that outcome, 66 percent of the uncounted ballots would have to be no votes. The remaining ballots will be tallied Monday.
