Legislature Considering Natural Reserve Along Holitna River

A bill being considered by the Legislature would create a natural reserve along the Holitna River. It would be the first time the Legislature creates a reserve for hunting and fishing. The bill is sponsored by Representative Bob Herron a Democrat of Bethel along with Representative Mark Neuman, a Big Lake Republican. A public hearing on the bill was held on Tuesday in the House Fisheries Committee.
