Musher Allen Moore was signing to himself on his way to Takotna when a team of 14 dogs raced past him.
To stop the dogs, Moore said he grabbed his hook from his sled and “jumped right in the middle of all those dogs that were trying to pass me.”
The dogs belonged to Justin Savidis. As of Friday afternoon, Savidis was still in McGrath looking for his dog.
