AFN Cancels Appearance of U.S. Senate Candidates

Dan Bross, KUAC – Fairbanks

The Alaska Federation of Natives annual conference has bumped a candidate appearance off its schedule.  AFN will allow the gubernatorial candidates to appear, but has canceled the appearance by the three U.S. Senate candidates, saying more time is needed to discuss subsistence.

Democratic Senate candidate Scott McAdams has been offered the chance to hold a meeting with delegates on the side.  Lisa Murkowski will appear at the convention as part of the reports from members of the Congressional delegation.  AFN’s leadership has endorsed the Murkowski campaign, but that has not been ratified by the delegates.
