Halibut Fleet Reeling at Proposed Cuts

The halibut fishing fleet is reeling at next season’s harvest recommendations from the scientific panel of the International Pacific Halibut Commission.  For Southeast they would cut the fishery by 47 percent.  The scientists say recruitment into the fishery is not happening as fast as they would like.  There are lots of young halibut, but they are still small.
