Swearing-In Ceremonies tonight at 8 PM on KSKA

Governor Sean Parnell and Lieutenant Governor-elect Mead Treadwell will be sworn into office today (Monday) in the Capital City.

The ceremony begins at 11:30 a.m. in Juneau’s Centennial Hall. It will be carried statewide on 360 North public television and the Alaska Public Radio stations.

Parnell and Treadwell were elected November 2nd. It was their first try for the posts; Parnell inherited the state’s top job last year (2009) when Governor Sarah Palin resigned from office.

The oath of office will be administered about noon by Alaska Supreme Court Chief Justice Walter (Bud) Carpeneti. After signing the oath, both Parnell and Treadwell will address the state.

The Reverend Doctor Walter Soboleff, now 102 years old, has been asked to make remarks at the ceremony. The governor’s Rural Advisor, John Moller, is master of ceremonies.

You can watch it live beginning at 11:30 am on 360 North television. 360 North is broadcast in Anchorage on channel 7-3 and on GCI Channel 15. On MTA 360 North is on channel 302. It is also streamed on the Internet at 360north.org.

KSKA will air a recording of the swearing-in at 8:00 pm tonight on FM 91.1.
