Student Ethnic and Racial Diversity Continues To Grow in Anchorage School District

The minorities have increased their “majority” percentage in Anchorage Schools. The district’s annual Ethnicity Report shows only 47 percent of its students describe themselves as white. KSKA’s Len Anderson reports.

After last night’s school board meeting, Anchorage School Superintendent Carol Comeau discussed the 2010-2011 report that was presented, but not discussed. She noted that the decade long trend of increasing minority percentages and which last year passed the fifty percent level was continuing.
