Four Local Non-Profits Gleefully Divide Over $200,000

Four Anchorage non-profits received some hefty checks Wednesday from the results of the annual Mayor’s Charity Ball. In fact, the total was the largest in the event’s 17 year history.

The check presentations took place during Mayor Dan Sullivan’s weekly press conference. Happily collected in the city hall’s eighth floor conference room were representatives of Alaska’s Children Services, Alaska Junior Theater, American Red Cross or Alaska and Green Star. Before handing out the checks, the mayor explained the selection process.
