Waterman Trial Begins in Anchorage

Steve Heimel, APRN-Anchorage

The second jury trial of Rachelle Waterman is underway.  Yesterday judge William Carey ruled that most of a videotaped confession by Waterman will be admissable as evidence.  Jury selection begins today.  Carey expects testimony to begin on Monday.  Waterman is accused of conspiring to kill her mother in 2004 near Craig.  She was 16 at the time of the murder. The two hit-men testified against her at her first  trial, held in Juneau, which ended in a hung jury.
