BBC Coverage from Cairo Starting at 8 PM

After weeks of protests in Cairo, today Egypt’s President Hosni Mubarak addressed the nation saying he will stay in office and transfer all power only after September’s election.

We’ve slightly adjusted today’s (Thursday) broadcast schedule to keep you updated on the events unfolding in Cairo, bringing you more news from NPR and the BCC.

All Things Considered started one hour early today at 3:00 pm.

BBC World Service will also begin early at 8:00 pm.
