Senate May Bar EPA From Regulating Climate Warming Emissions

Today, votes are likely in the U.S. Senate to bar the Environmental Protection Agency from regulating emissions that are warming the climate.  A few measures votes are in play.  The one that goes farthest is by Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell of Kentucky, and is backed by Alaska Senator Lisa Murkowski.

The Supreme court has ruled that the EPA does have that power.  Senator John Rockefeller of West Virginia has a bill to delay the EPA’s implementation.  Democratic Senator Mark Begich has not yet said how he will vote, but in the past he has not supported the Republican effort.
