No Identity Released for Man Shot, Killed by APD on Monday

Steve Heimel, APRN – Anchorage

No identity has yet been released on a man who was shot and killed by Anchorage police Monday after a strange episode at a midtown gas station.  The gas station operator had shut down the pumps because the man was threatening to blow the gas pumps up with a lighter.  The man was carrying a knife and reportedly charged police officers with it.  He was shot and died of his wounds later.  Police say he carried no identification.
