Clammers in Fatal Cook Inlet Boat Sinking Identified

The six commercial clammers involved in that fatal boat sinking on the west side of Cook Inlet last week have been identified now.

The survivor is Noel Garcia, 42, of Aberdeen, Washington.  He decided to walk instead of try to make it back to camp in the overloaded skiff.

The dead are:  Avelino Garcia, 36, and Ramon Valdiva, 31, both of oOregon, Jose Revera, 24, of Los Angeles, Jose Sandoval, 34, of

Bakersfield, and Roberto Ramirez, 42, home undetermined.

The worked as contractors for an Oregon seafood company named Pacific Alaska Shellfish.
