Soldotna Woman After Being Struck By Vehicle

Alaska State Troopers report a Soldotna woman died early Tuesday morning after being struck by a vehicle driven by her husband.

Jennifer Rupe, 39, was crouched by an injured animal in the roadway near Soldotna when a 1999 Jeep Cherokee driven by Carl Rupe, 43, hit her.

Troopers say fog and darkness likely hampered his vision, as well as headlights from another vehicle.

Jennifer Rupe was pronounced dead at the scene.
