Winds Causes Power Outages in Turnagain Arm, Parts of Kenai Peninsula

Sunday’s winds brought power outages to Turnagain Arm and parts of the Kenai Peninsula when wires were downed.  Chugach Electric had the biggest problem because the winds prevented using aircraft to get to the Powerline Pass area where the feed to the northern part of the Kenai Peninsula was interrupted.  At last report they were going to have to wait until Monday. Power was restored as far up from Seward as Moose Pass, but at last report Hope didn’t have power yet Sunday night.
