Chefs Compete In The Great Alaska Seafood Cook-Off

Monday at the tourist rail terminal at the Anchorage airport, six professional chefs compete in The Great Alaska Seafood Cook-Off. The event is not open to the public. The winner will represent Alaska at the Great American Cook-Off in New Orleans in August. The Alaska Seafood Marketing Institute says the competitors were chosen from 29 applications submitted by chefs. The finalists are from Crush Wine Bistro, Seven Glaciers, Chipper Fish in Hoonah, Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, The Chart Room in Kodiak, and the Alaska Culinary Academy in Seward. There is also an amateur recipe competition, among 32 submissions.
