US Mint To Unveil Quarter Honoring Denali Park

Officials from the U.S. Mint will be in Alaska next week to unveil a new quarter honoring Denali National Park.

A ceremony is scheduled for 10 a.m. Nov. 15 at the Tri-Valley Community Center in Healy north of the park.

The Fairbanks Daily News-Miner (http://bit.ly/PZVkbP) reports the Denali quarter is part of the America the Beautiful Quarters Program. The mint is honoring 56 national parks and other sites.
The Denali quarter shows a portrait of George Washington on the “heads” side. On the “tails” side is a Dall sheep with Mount McKinley in the background.

The ceremony is open to the public and people who attend will be able to exchange cash for $10 rolls of newly minted Denali quarters.
